Lake Life

The lake project has occupied a lot of our time this summer with needs to be out there to meet folks for sprinkler repairs, HVAC repairs, installations, etc.  Although I don't expect us to spend as many consecutive weekends out there in the future (we plan to rent out the home from time to time), we've sure enjoyed our quiet family time this summer.

A lot of our lovely summer reading has happened out here:

One day, Rick had several hours of conference calls so the kids and I hit the road to a "nearby" blueberry farm.  The kids have had much more appreciation for the effort that goes into a pint of blueberries at the grocery store since our excursion.

Fun visits with Aunt Samantha...

Rick used to sit at this very table and play games with his mom in this same spot when he was a kid.
There is a great produce stand near the lake house where I was able to get bushels of veggies and fruit for a canning party:
Uncle Sam came to the lake one day to amazingly craft two sets of bunk beds.  Palmer was completely intrigued with the entire process and did not leave Sam and Rick's sides the entire day.  Nana asked the kids in the afternoon if they wanted to go to a nearby carnival and Palmer said he "needed to stay home and focus on learning how to build bunk beds."
We outsourced the sanding and painting...
Palmer woke up the day after the constructing of the bunk beds with big ideas- he had his own plans for a new building project.  Ha.  I think more building was the last thing that Rick wanted, but he accommodated our potential engineer.

We also enjoyed a lovely day with the Wonsmos family.  We did the water trampoline and jet-skiing and had a full day of fun with dear old friends.

We are away in Utah and the mountains for the rest of the summer, but have sure enjoyed our peaceful and quiet days at the lake this summer.  We are looking forward to the temps cooling down for some outdoor time down there in the fall.
